Person Pianos was founded 22 years ago in the city of Porto Alegre. Its sales started at the Pinheiro Machado Street through representation of the brand F. Essenfelder, respected and traditional Brazilian piano maker. Three years later, the headquarter was transferred to a large room at the Andradas Street, in the downtown of the “gauche” capital. By 1986, Person Pianos initiated to represent other national and imported piano brands, like the Brazilian Fritz Dobbert, the Argentinian Burmeister and the North-American Baldwin. Since then, it was considered the biggest exclusive piano store in Brazil. In 1987, Person Pianos gives a big step inaugurating the first piano store in a Brazilian Airport. The filial of Salgado Filho International Airport, in Porto Alegre, received admiring comment, achieving clients in diverse Brazilian states and in neighbour countries. In its showroom, were exposed not only new brands, national and imported, but even used pianos which have been restored by its specialized repair shop. True pearls like Steinway & Sons, C. Bechstein, Schiedmayer and others were delivered by its repair shop ready to be exposed and sealed. By the end of 1993, Person Pianos was visited by managers of Yamaha from Japan, occasion which was proposed to turnout in dealer and distributor of Yamaha pianos as well as all musical instruments line in the south of Brazil. In 1994, Person Pianos started the importing of pianos and other musical instruments directly from Japan. The digital technology of the Japanese pianos and the technical quality of its instruments reached great notoriety through Person Pianos’ clients. By the year of 1996, a burning devastated the traditional Cacique Cinema, located a stock under Person Pianos, event which affected indirectly the store’ infrastructure and obliged the temporary return to its old headquarter at the Pinheiro Machado Street. Unfortunately, the building at the Andradas Street stayed interdicted for long years, turning impossible the return of Person Pianos to its wonderful headquarter. In this way, some restructuring were done in its building at the Pinheiro Machado Street in sense of better attending its clients. In 1999, Person Pianos gave another step setting the innovation, inaugurating the first Piano Museum of Latin-America in the city of Gramado. In a large arboreal glebe were constructed modern installations, which would receive rare pianos and instruments of traditional families and personalities from Brazil. Nearby the museum, was constructed the Mozart Hall. In this hall, with capacity to until hundred people, pianist and other musicians have met space for their performing. Person Pianos pride on contributing and promoting the
cultural formation of the Brazilian people, providing the public with
the knowledge about that one which is considered the king between the
musical instruments, the Piano. |
